Atalanta Shows Interest in Como's Assane Diao for Summer Transfer
Assane Diao is emerging as a target for multiple football clubs both within Italy and internationally. Recent reports indicate that Atalanta, under the management of Maurizio Sarri, is contemplating a potential summer acquisition of the Senegalese international.
Atalanta's Interest in Como's Diao
Diao made a significant impact upon his arrival at Como in Serie A. He joined the club for a fee of €12 million from Real Betis midway through the 2024-25 season. In his initial 15 appearances before the season concluded, he scored an impressive eight goals.
However, subsequent injury setbacks in the 2025-26 season limited the young player to just 17 league games. He also faces considerable competition for a spot in the Como attack, with talented players such as Jesus Rodriguez, Nico Paz, Martin Baturina, Nicolas Kuhn, and Jayden Addai also on the roster.
Several clubs have shown interest in the 20-year-old winger this summer, including Galatasaray and Roma. However, the latest information from Gianluca Di Marzio suggests that Atalanta has now joined the list of interested parties.
According to a report from Thursday, Como does not currently view Diao as available for transfer. Nevertheless, it is understood that they would be open to discussions and negotiations should an attractive offer be presented.
