Bologna Rejects Everton's €30m Bid for Jonathan Rowe, Rules Out Summer Sale
Reports from Italy suggest that Bologna has rejected a €30 million offer from Premier League club Everton for former England youth international Jonathan Rowe. The Italian club has made it clear that they are not willing to part ways with the Englishman during the current summer transfer window.
Everton is among the clubs that have shown interest in signing the 23-year-old winger, who previously played for Norwich City and Marseille. According to information from the Bologna-based publication Il Resto del Carlino, the Toffees submitted a €30 million bid for Rowe, which was promptly dismissed.
It is understood that Everton inquired about the possibility of further negotiation if their offer was increased to €35 million. However, Bologna has firmly stated that they are not open to considering any further offers, even with a higher price tag.
One of the primary reasons for Bologna's strong stance on not selling Rowe is the recent departure of one of their key attacking players, Santiago Castro, who joined Roma in a €35 million deal. Additionally, there are concerns that defender Jhon Lucumi might also be sold this summer for approximately €25 million, which would mean Bologna has already generated €60 million from player sales in this window.
Current reports indicate that Bologna will only consider selling Rowe if they receive an offer that significantly exceeds the player's market value, potentially in the range of €55-€60 million.
Bologna acquired Rowe from Marseille last summer for a reported fee of €19.5 million. During the 2025-26 season, he contributed seven goals and four assists across 40 appearances in Serie A and the Europa League.
