Fabregas Disappointed: 'Expected More' from Como After Udinese Draw

Despite this, we created two significant scoring chances, which is crucial. Generally, I was displeased with our ball possession, as several players performed below par today. On the positive side, Udinese posed little threat, and we secured our 15th clean sheet."

Como currently maintains fourth place with 58 points, four clear of Roma. However, their lead could shrink to just one point if Juventus defeats Genoa this evening. Atalanta also remains a formidable threat, aiming to rejoin the contention in the remaining seven rounds of the Serie A season.

The coach emphasized, "We mustn't forget that teams like Roma, Napoli, Atalanta, and Fiorentina have all suffered defeats here. Furthermore, some of my international players endured long journeys recently, a factor I, as a coach, must consider. In such situations, it's vital not to lose or concede, though I'm the first to admit I had higher expectations."

When questioned about the specific aspects of his team's performance that troubled him, Fabregas cited "possession, transitions, vertical passes – we didn’t move the ball with sufficient pace. We failed in our preventative marking and lost too many duels. Against a physically strong and seasoned team like Udinese, these lapses are costly."

The decision to substitute Tasos Douvikas, temporarily leaving Como without a central forward until Álvaro Morata's late introduction, raised questions, especially given the team's struggle to create scoring chances.

"Morata is motivated; you could see his commitment when he entered the game," Fabregas responded. "He is undoubtedly disappointed, as he's wanted more playing time this season – I would be too in his shoes.
