Inter Milan Signs Ivan Provedel from Lazio in €3 Million Deal
Inter Milan has officially welcomed Ivan Provedel as their new goalkeeper, following a €3 million transfer from Lazio. The club has secured the services of the Italian shot-stopper with a contract that extends to June 2029.
Provedel, a lifelong Inter supporter, reportedly jumped at the chance to join the Milanese club. He successfully completed his medical examinations and was cleared to sign the long-term agreement.
The 32-year-old goalkeeper is expected to contend for the starting position at San Siro this season, especially after the departure of Yann Sommer. Provedel's career path included stints in the youth academies of Udinese and Chievo, followed by playing for various clubs such as Perugia, Pisa, Modena, Juve Stabia, Pro Vercelli, and Empoli. He notably made his mark at Spezia, which led to his €2.55 million move to Lazio in the summer of 2022.
Provedel's previous season was cut short due to a significant shoulder injury in March, which required complex surgery. Reports at the time indicated that he would not be ready to return to the field until the end of August, suggesting that Inter may have to wait some time before he can make his debut for the club.
Although Provedel has been a regular in the senior Italy squad, he is still awaiting his first senior international appearance.
