Italy concluded its final training session at Coverciano before heading to Bosnia and Herzegovina for the crucial World Cup play-off Final, scheduled for Tuesday, March 31. Coach Gennaro Gattuso put his squad through a test match, revealing two potential starting elevens for the upcoming decisive encounter.

During the morning session, which included a warm-up rondo, Gattuso experimented with different player combinations and rotated goalkeepers.

Potential Italy Line-ups Before World Cup Play-off

The two provisional teams that emerged from the training were:

• White Team: Scalvini, Bastoni, Calafiori; Cambiaso, Frattesi, Cristante, Tonali, Dimarco; Kean, Retegui.
• Yellow Team: Mancini, Gatti, Buongiorno; Politano, Barella, Locatelli, Pisilli, Spinazzola; Raspadori, Esposito.

The White team, featuring Mateo Retegui and Moise Kean in attack, is considered the stronger contender to start the match. However, some modifications are anticipated. These potential changes include Gianluca Mancini replacing Giorgio Scalvini, Matteo Politano stepping in for Andrea Cambiaso, Manuel Locatelli for Bryan Cristante, and Nicolò Barella for Davide Frattesi.

Sources suggest that Gattuso intends to largely maintain the core squad that secured victory against Northern Ireland in the semi-final last week.

All players participated in today's training, ensuring Gattuso has a full complement of players to choose from for the Bosnia clash. Despite this, the coach will announce five players who will be omitted from the final matchday squad on Tuesday morning. In the previous semi-final against Northern Ireland, several players including Elia Caprile, Diego Coppola, Andrea Cambiaso, Gianluca Scamacca, and Nicolò Cambiaghi were not included in the squad.
