Pio Esposito's Agent Supports Gattuso's Decisions on Inter Starlet; Insights on Politano and Napoli Players

When questioned about whether Pio Esposito should start the match in Bosnia, Giuffredi cautiously avoided offering direct advice, deferring to the coach's judgment.

“Gattuso is fully capable of making the best choices for the national team, he doesn't need anyone's counsel,” Giuffredi stated. “Pio Esposito is a young player with remarkable personality. If he is selected to start from the first minute, he will approach this game with the same simplicity he brings to every match. That is one of his key attributes.”

Matteo Politano, who impressed alongside Sandro Tonali during Italy’s victory over Northern Ireland, received particularly high praise from his agent.

Giuffredi explained, “When he was at Inter, he wasn't mentally prepared for the level of sacrifice his current role demands. Now, he is more receptive, mature, and has embraced playing as a versatile wide midfielder. He and Tonali were the standout performers on the pitch against Northern Ireland. As time progresses, he only gets stronger, which is unusual, as most players’ performances typically start to decline.”

Giovanni Di Lorenzo will not be traveling to Bosnia. He had already made a considerable personal sacrifice to attend the Northern Ireland match in Bergamo, despite managing a serious injury at the time.

“He left after his afternoon therapy sessions and returned to Naples by 6 AM the next day,” Giuffredi revealed. The agent expressed optimism that his client could return to action in the final week of April.

Regarding Antonio Vergara, another Napoli client who has broken into Antonio Conte’s plans this season, Giuffredi voiced frustration that an injury struck at precisely the wrong moment. “He could have received a national team call-up. The timing of this injury is particularly unfortunate,” he commented. Discussions about a contract renewal are anticipated at the end of the season.
