World Cup Earnings Revealed: Milan Best in Serie A, Man City First Overall

AC Milan emerged as the highest earner among Serie A clubs from the recent World Cup, and also secured a spot in the top 10 worldwide for club earnings through the tournament.

FIFA's Club Benefits Programme allocates approximately €215 million to clubs whose players participated in the World Cup, with Serie A teams set to receive around €13 million in total. The exact amount each club receives is determined by the number of players they had at the tournament and how far those players progressed.

There's a significant financial disparity between the major European leagues. English clubs are projected to receive approximately €40 million, while Spanish clubs will earn around €18 million.

AC Milan is set to earn nearly €2 million. This is attributed to their ten players who spent a combined 456 days at the World Cup. Notably, contributions from French stars Mike Maignan and Adrien Rabiot each added €240,000 to Milan's total.

Globally, AC Milan ranks among the top 10 highest earners in the Club Benefits Programme, with Manchester City leading the pack with an estimated €4 million.

Atalanta secured the second-highest earnings in Serie A, receiving €1.4 million. The club had eight players at the World Cup, though only Charles De Ketelaere advanced beyond the Round of 16.

Inter Milan rounds out the top three Serie A earners with €1.3 million. This figure includes €240,000 specifically from their captain, Lautaro Martinez, who reached the final – the maximum amount a club can receive for a single player's participation.

Como is also expected to receive a similar amount for Nico Paz, with Martin Baturina and Assane Diao contributing to a total of €580,000 for their respective clubs.

Juventus is ranked fourth among Serie A clubs, and surprisingly, Bologna has made it into the top five.

Beyond Serie A, the top earning clubs globally include Manchester City, Barcelona (earning €3.3 million), and Arsenal (earning €3.2 million).
