Thuram Reflects on Inter's Resilience and Praises Bonny's Impact

Marcus Thuram stated that Inter's comeback victories demonstrate their capacity as a team to "know how to react." He specifically mentioned the importance of players like Ange-Yoan Bonny coming off the bench, following their 5-3 win against Udinese.

The match saw a resemblance to Inter's past reputation for unpredictable games. For the second consecutive league fixture, Inter trailed by two goals at home before staging a comeback win.

Following a 3-2 victory over Napoli, Inter overcame Udinese 5-3. The scoreline featured eight different goal scorers, with Carlos Augusto, Nicolò Barella, Marcus Thuram, Francesco Pio Esposito, and Ange-Yoan Bonny all finding the net.

“I don’t think we need to be shaken up. We’ve played many games; sometimes we can start poorly, but we’ve proven we are a team that knows how to react,” Thuram told Sky Sport Italia. “We understand a match lasts over 90 minutes, that there was still ample time, and we could turn it around, which is what we did.”

Inter faces Roma next in a top-of-the-table clash. Both teams have maintained a perfect record after four rounds.

“We have 19 rivals we aim to get results against this season, and Roma is one of them. So, we must go there and do what’s necessary.”

Thuram offered particular praise for his teammate Bonny, who scored after coming on as a substitute.

“This is his second season here; he also played in the World Cup, so he has more experience now. He consistently works hard and contributes. I believe he is one of the best players in Serie A,” Thuram commented.

The team's slow starts may be linked to fatigue from their midweek 2-1 Champions League loss to Real Madrid, a match marred by costly individual errors. Inter also found themselves two goals down in that fixture at the Bernabeu, indicating a pattern.

“Like last season, we are not just 11 players, but a whole squad ready to do the job when needed,” Bonny responded. “Roma is a strong team; it will be a tough match. We have the same objective as always: to win the game.”
